PR Consultant – B2B Tech, Fintech & Financial Services PR – Sevenoaks, Kent

The agency

This is an independent communications agency with an international footprint and a small, close-knit UK team based in Sevenoaks, Kent. The UK office works with UK clients across technology, fintech and financial services. The work is mainly B2B, with some consumer-facing stories in the mix. The agency is ambitious and hands-on, and because the team is small, your work and ideas are seen straight away.

The role

This is a senior role, built around one thing above all: UK media relations. You'll be the person who turns complex business and finance stories into coverage in national, business, money and fintech titles, using your own journalist relationships.

You'll lead client relationships day to day, shape the PR strategy on your accounts, and lead and develop two junior members of the team. You'll report to the Group Account Director.

What you'll do

  • Build and keep strong relationships with UK journalists and editors across national, business, technology, fintech and trade media

  • Find the news angles, pitch proactively and secure regular earned coverage

  • Spot breaking news and industry conversations where clients can add a credible voice

  • Plan and deliver insight-led PR strategies tied to each client's business goals

  • Own day-to-day client relationships, giving confident counsel and proactive ideas

  • Write press releases, commentary, thought leadership and other content for UK audiences

  • Run integrated campaigns, keeping deadlines, budgets and deliverables on track

  • Report on coverage and campaign results, with clear recommendations

  • Lead, coach and develop two junior team members

  • Bring media insight and ideas to new business pitches

What they're looking for

  • At least five years' PR experience, ideally agency-side

  • Proven UK media relations with an established journalist network. This is essential.

  • A track record of securing national, business, money and fintech coverage on your own

  • Strong B2B PR experience, ideally in technology, fintech or financial services. Some B2C experience is a bonus

  • Excellent writing, with a sharp editorial eye for turning complex topics into clear stories

  • Experience running several accounts at once and advising clients with confidence

  • A self-starter who spots opportunities and doesn't wait to be asked

  • Comfortable in a small team, and keen to bring on junior colleagues

Salary and package

£45,000–£50,000, depending on experience. Full-time, permanent.

Location and working pattern

Sevenoaks, Kent. The office is close to Sevenoaks station, which is around 23 minutes from London Bridge by train. You'll be in the office at least two days a week, with some flexibility if needed, and work from home the rest. This role suits someone who wants a long-term home for their career, with a commute to Sevenoaks that works for them week in, week out.
