ACCOUNT MANAGER - CAPITAL MARKETS

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, specialist communications agency with a highly regarded Capital Markets practice. This is a rare opportunity to join a team that works exclusively in the fintech and market infrastructure space — advising some of the most consequential companies in financial markets on their communications strategy.

This is not a generalist financial services PR role. The agency's Capital Markets team works with the businesses building the technology and platforms that underpin how markets operate: trading venues, post-trade and clearing providers, market data firms, execution technology businesses and the fintechs disrupting traditional market infrastructure.

The Role

As Account Manager, you will take day-to-day ownership of client accounts, leading the delivery of integrated PR and communications programmes. You will work closely with senior colleagues and junior team members, acting as the primary client contact across a portfolio of specialist Capital Markets accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day management of a portfolio of fintech and capital markets technology clients

  • Develop and execute media relations strategies, securing coverage in tier-one financial and trade media

  • Create high-quality content including press releases, opinion pieces, white papers and briefing documents

  • Manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and feedback

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, analysts and industry stakeholders

  • Contribute to new business pitches and proposals

  • Stay current on trends across capital markets technology, fintech regulation and market infrastructure

About You

You will be an experienced PR professional with a track record of working with clients in the fintech or capital markets technology space. You understand the language of market infrastructure — and you bring credibility when talking to clients, journalists and stakeholders in this world.

Essential Experience

  • Account Manager-level experience in a PR agency environment

  • Proven experience working with fintech or capital markets technology clients

  • Strong media relations skills with established relationships across financial and trade press

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously with strong attention to detail

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with market infrastructure businesses (exchanges, trading venues, post-trade, data providers)

  • Understanding of financial regulation and its communications implications

  • Experience supporting business development and pitching for new accounts
