PAID MEDIA DIRECTOR (PERFORMANCE MARKETING) - LONDON (HYBRID)

We're partnering with a high-performing comms agency to find a Paid Media Director who's ready to own and grow a paid media function — not just manage it.

This is a genuine leadership role for someone who wants strategic ownership, commercial influence, and the space to build something in a collaborative, non-hierarchical environment.

The role

You'll lead paid media strategy across Search, Social and Programmatic, manage a team of three (2 Managers + 1 Senior), and act as the senior point of contact across key accounts — including a major UK brand that's seriously data-led and performance-focused.

The emphasis is firmly on strategy and direction. You won't be buried in day-to-day account management; you'll be shaping how the function operates, elevating client relationships, and helping the agency win new business.

What you'll be doing

  • Own paid media strategy across Search, Social and Programmatic — with a focus on outcomes, not just delivery

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of three, setting high standards and supporting progression

  • Act as a trusted senior advisor to key clients, including on a flagship data-led account

  • Collaborate closely with client services, strategists and project managers

  • Support new business pitches — consumer and FMCG opportunities actively in the pipeline

  • Improve processes, frameworks and tooling across the paid media function

  • Spot commercial opportunities to grow accounts and improve profitability

What they're looking for

  • 7 or 8+ years in paid media, agency-side preferred

  • Strong across Paid Search, Paid Social and Programmatic

  • Proven team leadership and senior client ownership

  • A confident communicator — comfortable presenting strategy and performance at director level

  • Commercial awareness; P&L or resource planning exposure is a bonus

  • The right fit for a smaller, ambitious agency: low ego, hands-on, genuinely growth-minded

Package

  • Salary up to £75k

  • Hybrid: currently 1 day/week in a central London office, moving to 2 days/week from September

  • 25 days holiday + 3 fixed days (Christmas/New Year), private health and life insurance, birthday off, and additional wellbeing reset days
