JUNIOR COMMUNICATIONS + ENGAGEMENT CONSULTANT (DEFENCE) - BRISTOL - HYBRID
We’re recruiting for a Junior Communications & Engagement Consultant to support complex digital transformation programmes in a Defence-focused environment.
This is a client-facing role for someone who enjoys working at pace, building trust with stakeholders, and delivering clear, consistent communications that drive adoption and behaviour change.
What you’ll be doing
Design and deliver communications and engagement strategies aligned to programme goals
Identify, map and engage stakeholders across internal teams, partners and wider communities
Create multi-channel comms plans and produce clear, accurate content for different audiences
Support behaviour change through messaging, storytelling and engagement activity
Facilitate workshops and events, producing usable outputs
Capture feedback and sentiment, using insights to refine communications and measure impact
Build strong working relationships and support long-term client engagement
What we’re looking for
Experience supporting communications and engagement on digital programmes (large-scale transformation a plus)
Strong writing, stakeholder management and organisational skills
Comfortable working in complex environments and to tight deadlines
Consulting / blended team experience is helpful but not essential
Qualifications such as CIPR / IoIC / PRINCE2 are beneficial but not required
Security clearance note
This role is likely to require UK security clearance, which typically requires 5 years’ continuous UK residency, alongside baseline checks.
Location & working pattern
Bristol-based (hybrid) – typically 2+ days per week on site
Regular travel to client sites across the Southwest / M4 corridor
Salary bracket
£45k-53k
