ACCOUNT DIRECTOR — DEFENCE, SECURITY & AEROSPACE PUBLIC RELATIONS

The Opportunity

A senior Account Director opportunity has opened up with a fast-growing public and government relations firm specialising exclusively in defence, security and aerospace. Working with some of the sector's most exciting and fastest-growing companies, this firm has built its reputation purely on referral and results. This is a genuine step up in seniority — shaping strategy, advising clients directly, and helping build the firm as it scales.

What You'll Be Doing

•      Setting strategic direction for client accounts and owning delivery against agreed objectives

•      Acting as senior point of contact and strategic counsel to clients

•      Developing and delivering integrated communications, media and government relations campaigns

•      Building and maintaining relationships across media, industry, government and Parliament

•      Leading engagement with relevant government departments and political audiences

•      Producing and overseeing high-quality written work — messaging, briefings, policy papers, media materials and senior correspondence

•      Travelling domestically and internationally to support clients as needed

•      Managing and developing junior team members

•      Owning client satisfaction, retention and account growth

•      Contributing to new business and the firm's continued growth

What They're Looking For

•      Minimum 7 years' experience in political and/or media-facing roles

•      Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to client counsel

•      Excellent political judgement and confidence advising senior clients

•      Experience in UK public and government relations

•      Strong knowledge of UK Parliament and government

•      An understanding of US politics

•      Genuine interest in defence, security and the UK Armed Forces (sector experience not essential)

•      £60,000–£80,000 DOE
