ACCOUNT DIRECTOR — B2B TECH & FINTECH PR — CENTRAL LONDON

The Opportunity

An independent B2B technology PR agency in Central London is looking for an Account Director. They work with B2B scale-ups and enterprise technology brands, and they build campaigns designed to move commercial numbers rather than just collect coverage.

Their view is that the traditional agency model hasn't kept pace with how the market actually works now, and they've built the business around doing it differently. It's landed: they were named a PR Week Top 50 technology agency in 2026, and recognised as an AI innovator in 2024.

This is a senior client seat with proper scope. You'd own the relationships, take responsibility for delivery across your portfolio, and have a genuine say in where those accounts go next — commercially as well as creatively. There's a real new business element too; they want someone who enjoys pitching rather than someone who tolerates it. They've just moved into brand new offices and it's three days a week in.

What You'll Be Doing

Client leadership

•    Act as the senior point of contact across your portfolio, taking overall responsibility for delivery

•    Co-ordinate the resource needed to service projects and balance client expectations against the creative work

•    Plan campaigns and build strategic operational plans that go beyond the monthly scope of work

•    Build and maintain multiple relationships within each client organisation, not just the one contact

•    Lead client meetings and events, seek regular feedback and act on it

•    Spot and shape the story — finding creative angles and content that genuinely resonates with media

•    Stay close to the media yourself; this is not a role where you stop speaking to journalists

•    Manage anything that threatens an account early and calmly

•    Keep client relationships alive beyond the end of a contract, or when your contact moves on

Team leadership

•    Lead your team, offering direction and support and making sure the right skills sit behind each account

•    Line manage — weekly and monthly guidance, bi-annual reviews, measurable goals and proper career development plans

•    Act as the bridge between the directors and the wider team

•    Handle team issues proactively and bring recommended solutions, not just problems

•    Input on and drive the training programme

Commercial ownership

•    Own account profitability — service levels, time analysis and direct cost recovery, flagging under or over servicing in real time

•    Take responsibility for all reporting and deliverables against the agreed scope of work and budget

•    Produce and monitor accurate fee forecasting

•    Build a plan to drive organic growth for each of your clients every six months, and deliver on it

New business and agency contribution

•    Generate new opportunities through client, professional and social relationships

•    Work with the directors on prospects and play a key part in pitches

•    Facilitate creative sessions, including new business brainstorms and client workshops

•    Contribute to the day-to-day running of the agency — team planning, resourcing and senior management meetings

•    Bring a point of view on how the agency markets itself, and where it should be showing up

What They're Looking For

•    Account Director level experience in a PR or communications agency, ideally B2B or enterprise technology

•    Leadership and talent development experience, and evidence that you enjoyed that part of the job

•    A track record in business development, covering both new wins and organic growth from existing clients

•    Strong project management with the organisation and planning to match

•    Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills — including proposals and pitch decks, not just press releases

•    Commercial acumen, and the confidence to represent PR at a senior level inside a business

•    A strategic thinker with entrepreneurial flair who uses their initiative

•    A clear point of view on where PR and marketing communications are heading

•    A keen networker, comfortable building relationships with influencers and industry spokespeople

•    Someone who works independently and autonomously, and is happy to roll their sleeves up

What's on Offer

•    Circa £60,000, with some flexibility for the right experience

•    Brand new Central London offices — three days a week in, two from home

•    A senior seat with input into agency direction, training and resourcing, not just account delivery — at an agency that has been recognised for both its tech work and its use of AI

•    Real ownership of a client portfolio, commercially as well as creatively

•    A proper role in new business, with directors who want you in the room rather than writing the deck

•    A client base of B2B scale-ups and enterprise technology brands — the kind of work where results are measured commercially, not just in cuttings

•    The chance to shape the training and development of the team below you
