The Role

A senior position for an experienced communications professional (financial services focus) ready to move beyond delivery and into genuine client counsel and agency leadership. You’ll lead strategic direction on key accounts, own senior client relationships, drive new business development and help shape the culture and capability of the team around you. Five or more years’ experience in a communications agency: Salary is £65k+ and flexible depending on level.

What You’ll Be Doing

•       Act as the senior point of counsel on key client accounts, providing strategic communications advice at board and C-suite level

•       Lead integrated communications programmes from planning through to execution and evaluation

•       Build and sustain senior relationships with clients, journalists and industry stakeholders

•       Own new business activity: identifying opportunities, leading pitches and converting them

•       Oversee the quality of written output across your accounts — op-eds, messaging frameworks, crisis communications, briefing documents and media materials

•       Mentor and develop a team of Account Managers and senior executives — setting clear standards and creating a culture of learning

•       Manage client budgets and resourcing, ensuring high-quality delivery within agreed scope

•       Contribute to agency positioning, thought leadership and marketing activity

•       Monitor the media and political landscape and proactively advise clients on emerging risks and opportunities

What You’ll Bring

•       Five or more years in a communications agency

•       Deep understanding of corporate communications — issues management, corporate affairs, financial communications, or a combination

•       A track record of providing senior strategic counsel and building lasting client relationships

•       Strong commercial instincts: comfortable leading new business and identifying organic growth opportunities

•       An established network of media and industry contacts you bring with you and continue to develop

•       Excellent written communications across a range of formats, from crisis messaging to long-form editorial

•       A natural leader: inspires confidence in clients, motivates teams and is sought out for advice

•       Able to manage multiple accounts and competing demands calmly and without losing quality

•       Thoughtful in how you use AI and technology to enhance — not replace — high-quality communications work
